Okay so the guest speaker kept us 15 minutes past the end of class. arrrgh! why who knows? His talk was soo dry I was really really fighting to stay awake. thank goodness he's not an instr.

Then the good news, the afternoon class went really well, went over what we need to study for the Final; only 16 articles to read, and a bunch of other stuff. Piece of cake. :faint:

However he did let us go early so we could get a jumpstart. lol

that was at 3:30 this afternoon, and now, it's almost 7pm. hmm? Where was I you ask?? Well, stuck in traffic for 2 hours!! Which it could've been worse- I could've been one of the cars in the median that was the cause of the standstill. Yikes- there were 3 cops, 2 fire engines and 1 ambulance (the other's must've left). And they are still cleaning it up from what I heard on the radio.

So please please please be careful this week-not only is it one of the busiest Holiday's for traveling, then you add in that "BLack Friday" early early dawn shopping and well, just drive carefully. Pay attention for the one's that aren't.

I'm off to go find some coffee and cookies-Patrick is already cooking stuff for Thursday. Yeah, prep cook time. LOL  I wonder if he's cooking anything for dinner??

OMG! we have a guest speaker this morning and he's discussing a topic that I'm sure will come in handy one day, but omg is he preachy. And is really annoying me...I can't quite put a finger on it,but arrrgh!!!

I really wish I had slept in this morning...the fibro is really really bothering me today and I'm getting upset with this dudes' lecture, which makes me tense up and see the cycle here.

I can't wait for this class to be over with today!!!!

So today is technically a day off from school and I try to do all my around town errands & it's also my baby brother's birthday.

Well all good plans-bit the dust.

I slept in...well till 9. And then I was trying to do some hw, when I remembered that I needed to be at my brother's before he went in to work.

And that's when everything went south. LOL I goofed off a bit before I left and left later than I wanted to.

well not exactly-we had a nice visit and I drove him to work. And then I also had to do the bank run's, get a money order (there aren't many places that do that anymore) and get the nails and hair done. Well, the hair took way longer than I thought it would, almost two hours longer. sigh.... which is what threw everything else out of whack. I had to still get my nails done and that took longer than usual too!

So by the time I finally made it home, I called and ordered dinner. Good news, I have left-overs for lunch tomorrow.

However I had to scan in three chapters for the group I'm co-facilitating tomorrow and I still need to go through and hi-light the major points I want to cover in the group session. I'm also behind on doing my own self-evaluation-so that's going to have to be re-scheduled. And I am trying to organize an Intern Notebook to keep track of all the important stuff I'm doing and what needs to be done. Organization is my new friend. LOL

Good news-I did get my weekly logs done and emailed in. And I'll be going to a meeting tomorrow night for a paper that's due next week.

And now I'm going to go relax for a bit...before heading to bed. Tomorrow starts bright and early!

A dying art or not allowed in the new "PC" environment.

I should warn ya'll, I'm venting...

Most of you know, I'm a DAV-oh btw- Happy Veteran's Day!!
And I use a cane, some days I really rely on my cane.

This morning is one of days. Most of the time I can use a regular door, yet this morning I needed to use the disability enabled doors. Well, imagine my surprise when a fellow student gives me a really nasty look for coming through the door- when he "triggered" it. Um, he did not seem to be needing to use this door,  no cane, no limping and well unless you count rudeness as a disability- he seemed perfectly fine. Normally I just let these things go by, no worries.

However today I wasn't the only one being treated rudely by our fellow students. There is another student that also uses a supportive cane and was nearly ran into when she tried to get off the elevator. Umm- here's a clue, let people out, before you try to "SHOVE YOURSELF ON!" sigh....

I don't know how many times on campus HERE -never at BSU- that I am pushed, shoved out of the way and have had doors literally slammed in my face, because I couldn't "catch it in time."  Is my cane invisible? I know I look normal. But would you want this to happen to you? No.

So seriously, what has happened to common courtesy??

Is it wrong to let people go ahead of you, hold open a door for them, or just plain be nice! Is being polite to a fellow human being no longer PC?

I'm just saying take the time to do a "Random act of kindess" today! Hold the door, let the people get off the elevator first, simply smile at someone. You might be surprised at how you feel and how you made them feel! I really miss that commercial about how this concept passes on from one person to another. You never know what the end effect might be.
